Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph

Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph pays tribute to the first Tag Heuer Chronograph

Origins (1860s–1880s)

TAG Heuer’s story began in 1860, when Edouard Heuer founded Heuer Watchmaking Inc. in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. In 1882, Heuer patented his first chronograph, and five years later, in 1887, he invented the oscillating pinion — a key component still used in mechanical chronographs today. These innovations established Heuer as a pioneer in precision timekeeping.
