The Seiko Ripley Watch is one of the most famous and recognizable Seiko watches ever made, thanks to its appearance on the wrist of Ellen Ripley, played by Sigourney Weaver, in the 1986 science-fiction classic Aliens. The watch is a Seiko Giugiaro Design 7A28-7000, part of a series created by legendary Italian automotive designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, known for designing iconic cars such as the DeLorean DMC-12 and Lotus Esprit.
Released in 1983, the watch features a highly unconventional asymmetrical design with the chronograph module mounted on the side of the case rather than centered, giving it a futuristic, industrial appearance.
